COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE

DPT Sport is committed to keeping our patients and employees safe during these unprecendented times. As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, we are keeping up to date with federal, state, and local infection control guidelines and adjusting as necessary to protect all. Physical therapy services are not only deemed essential healthcare services, but state and federal agencies are encouraging physical therapy clinics to continue to operate in order to keep patients healthy and out of hospitals, emergency rooms, and urgent care settings. Physical therapists are considered the preferred expert musculoskeletal providers that save our health care system millions of dollars while keeping our patients off of the operating table and off of dangerous opioids. We want to take the opportunity to share more details about the comprehensive measures we have implemented to help keep you and our whole team safe.

In addition to our practice being open for in-office visits, we are also offering our patients the option of a secure, HIPAA compliant interactive telehealth video visit from the convenience of your home or work setting for those who prefer to be treated remotely Click here to learn more

Our Commitment to Keeping Our Clients and Team Safe

Our Entire DPT Sport Team is Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated

For your protection and our team's as well, every member of our team, from clinicians to our administrative team, has been fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine since the vaccine was made available to health care providers.

Screening Procedures

All those who enter the clinic will be screened with a no touch infrared thermometer. In addition, every patient will be asked the CDC/IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) recommended screening questions, given the current state of affairs. If you are unable to attend in person, our team will work with you to reschedule your appointment as a telehealth visit until you are no longer deemed a potential health risk to others. For those with concerns about in-office visits due to your personal status, we offer telehealth as an alternative. If you have any doubts about whether you should attend your appointment, please call the clinic before arriving for your visit to speak with a member of our team.

CDC Recommended Mask Use and Social Distancing

The CDC recommends face mask use for infection control for all health care settings regardless of individual patient and/or our team members' vaccination status. All patients and staff are required to wear a clean mask upon entering the building. If you do not have one, we are happy to provide one to you.

In addition, each patient/clinician pair will remain in either a private treatment room or appropriately social distanced from all other individuals if in a common area of the clinic. If you prefer to stay in a private treatment room, please just let your Doctor of Physical Therapy know and we will be happy to accommodate your request.

Limited Number of Visitors

As we have a strict 100% one-on-one patient care model, we have a limited number of patients and wellness clients in our clinic. Other area practices typically have 3-4x our number of patients in their clinics, as the traditional physical therapy model in Illinois entails mulitiple patients with overlapping visit times. Only essential family members or caregivers should accompany a patient in to his/her visit. We have suspended all visits from outside vendors and non-essential visitors.

Enhanced Sanitary Protocols

In addition to reinforced hand hygiene of both our team and our clients, increased frequency of cleaning throughout the clinic has been implemented, with special attention to high touch surfaces. All equipment, mat tables, and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned after each patient use. Our pillow cases, sheets, and patient gowns are professionally laundered after each patient use. Additionally, we have also installed AHAM/HEPA-certified UV-C light air purifiers in each room to continuously filter the air in our clinic.
