Kerwin Yenter, PT, MPT
Staff Physical Therapist
Kerwin Yenter, PT, MPT, says his “patient first” approach to Physical Therapy stems from his excellent understanding of the various difficulties patients may encounter during the rehabilitative process.
He uses an evidence-based practice approach to support his treatment plans, which aim to correct the imbalances associated with injury.
“I also believe it is critical to maximize patient participation and foster independence by developing comprehensive home exercise programs,” he says.
Kerwin obtained his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin and completed prestigious internships at the renowned Mayo Clinic and The University of Michigan MedSport Clinic.
He has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedics, where he has developed his treatment skills for more than a decade.
In addition to clinical practice, Kerwin has also participated in numerous public discussions and community outreach programs focused on injury prevention in youth sports.
At DPT Sport, he understands the importance of incorporating function into his rehab approach to optimize patient outcomes and help his patients achieve their goals in a fast and efficient manner.
What people say about Kerwin:
“My shoulder pain was taking all the joy out of my golf game. On the advice of my physician, I consulted Kerwin who worked me through the ins and outs of repetitive strain injuries. Not only is the problem solved now but I am taking regular steps to ensure there is no reoccurrence.” -Peter B.
“After my work accident, I couldn’t imagine how I could return to normal living. Following surgery, I started physical therapy with Kerwin and over time, I began to see progress. He always made me feel we were partners working for the same goal, and I appreciated that. Today I am back to work three days a week, and the prognosis is good for my long-term return to regular duties. I couldn’t have done this alone.” -Sawyer C.
“Because my work schedule keeps me on the road a lot, it is very difficult for me to get to physical therapy sessions, but I was determined to make a quick recovery from my injury. Kerwin tailored a program to my individual circumstances that included a lot of home exercise so I could help myself in tandem with his efforts. I recovered in record time and I really appreciate his attitude of treating patients as individuals.” -Sonya V.
“I didn’t think I would ever walk without a cane again, and this was really depressing to me. But Kerwin worked with me and helped me find a remedy for some of the balance issues I was dealing with. Today I have recovered to the point that I can actually walk downstairs without holding a railing. I never dreamed that would be possible!” -Angie T.
