Joe Alberth, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Joe earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University School of Medicine’s Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences Program, consistently ranked one of the top programs in the country. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Alberth has completed clinical internships in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, as well as neurological rehabilitation.His clinical experience and interests span a wide age range and include treating individuals with a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. One of his specialty interests is vestibular dysfunction and rehabilitation. Joe designs individualized treatment plans for his patients experiencing dizziness and balance difficulties to not only decrease their symptoms, but to also improve their safety and function as well.
Joe is passionate about taking a holistic approach to patient care, as he understands the synergistic relationship between the mind and the body. He believes that his patients have the greatest potential for improvement when these interconnected systems are taken into account as he designs each individual’s custom treatment plan. Dr. Alberth feels that his education paired with his clinical experience have prepared him well to view every patient’s unique situation through a wide lens.
Dr. Alberth believes that education is a vital part of every patient’s physical therapy experience. One of his primary goals is to help empower his patients to better manage their own health; he does this by instilling in each person a solid understanding of how their bodies move and function. Joe understands that our current healthcare system is complex and strives to assist his patients along this winding road towards a path of independence where each patient can be his or her own strong advocate.
